Family Support Officer
Job Description:
Our client aims to provide a service, “Making life better for children, parents and communities by bringing together early education, childcare, health and family support.”
Duties of the role include:
◦Providing support with any tasks
◦Giving advice to families with children who have special needs
◦Project management
◦Writing reports
◦Administration
◦A university qualification is social care is desired
You will need knowledge of:
◦the special needs of children with disabilities
◦children’s developmental needs (physical, emotional, social, cultural, intellectual and play needs)
◦the genetic/health conditions that lead to disability.
◦equal rights issues, the Disability Discrimination Act and its implications
◦the processes by which families’ needs are met through their local community.
◦local communities and their specific problems
◦safeguarding / child protection procedures
◦various cultural backgrounds/ issues
◦post natal depression
Hours of work are Monday to Friday 8.30 – 5.30pm.
