WRITING FOR PROSIDER

To help you contribute, we have prepared an ‘Article Guideline sheet’, which is intended as a useful guide and support, rather than a set of rigid rules.

Size Matters

150 words Quarter page
300 words Half page
650 words Full page
800 words One-and-a-half pages
1000 words Two Full pages

Headline

This is the eye-catching title that indicates the nature of the piece to follow.
Lead Section

The introductory sentence or paragraph that briefly conveys the gist of the article and what it will cover. This should be sufficiently detailed to inform, while intriguing enough to excite interest in the subject.

Subheadings

These help you organise the article – breaking it up into distinct, logical sections and also making the piece more manageable and easily digestible for readers.

Author Credits

Please provide your name or pen name (pseudonym) and location. We will not publish your full address, unless you specifically requested this.

The Article

When you have finished, please check:
• Spelling, punctuation and grammar. If written on a PC/word processor, do a spell-check.
• That it is accurate, i.e. properly researched
• That it is ‘all your own work’ and does not infringe anybody’s copyright. Just about all written material since 1st January 1978 is automatically protected, even without a notice or c symbol
• That your piece has a clear beginning, middle and conclusion
• That it is clear, easily read and accurate

Images

Try and provide images to support your article, as they will draw readers to it, sustain their interest and
provide valuable context. Ensure that you have the permission of the artist, creator or photographer -and any living people depicted. Please provide high resolution images, in a Jpeg format.
